Venturing is a Boy Scouts of America program intended to give older youth opportunities for extended activities. Crew members range in age from 14 to 21 and include young ladies. Unlike the traditional Boy Scout program, there are no rank advancements, although there are awards that may be earned. Crews decide what activites the members will do. These may include service projects or High Adventure outings such as Northern Tier, Philmont, or Seabase. All outings require the presence of an appropriate number of male and female adult advisors, each of whom is required to complete (at a minimum) Youth Protection Training.

Venturing Crew 264 in Olney, MD was reactivated in October 2010. The Crew has approximately 12 members, both older scouts from Troop 264 as well as members who have no previous scouting experience.

Venturing Crew 264 meets at St. John's on Mondays. Meeting times are at 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM on the first and third Mondays of the month (1 hour), and 7 PM to 7:30 PM on the second and fourth Mondays of the month (1/2 hour). This is in advance of the regular Troop 264 Boy Scout meeting at 7:30, for the convenience of members who are in both units.
